YOUTH AND EDUCATION

YOUTH SOFTBALL

The Youth easily defeated Meadow Park Church of God in their last game. This Sunday they play Scioto Ridge United Methodist at 6:00 p.m. All games are played at Thompson Park behind the Lane Road Library. Come out and cheer for the youth!

CCC YOUTH MISSION TEAM REPORT

We had a wonderful trip to Grand Rapids, Michigan! We are grateful for this experience. The youth will share their stories and testimonies in both Worship Services on July 29th.

Be “Green” and help CCC Youth earn some Green!

It’s time to clean out the basement again! Bring your old computers, stereos, phones and electronic gadgets to The Andersons General Store, 7000 Bent Tree Boulevard, near Sawmill and 161 on Saturday, August 4th, and we will recycle them. Bring your documents to be shredded too! There is no limit on how much you can bring for a $5.00 donation. Better yet, you get a $5.00 coupon for purchases inside The Andersons Store! Collection times are between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Our youth and parents will be there to unload your stuff. Tell your friends and neighbors. Recycle responsibly and help our youth! Proceeds will go toward future Youth Mission Trips.

Club VBS Helpers Needed at CNC

Club VBS was a success at the park. Thanks to all of the dedicated workers and teachers who contributed their time and energy! VBS Space Quest will be conducted again on August 6th – 10th, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the CNC in Hilliard for children 3 years – 5th grade. Volunteers from our congregation are needed! Please contact Janet Buechner or me if you wish to serve on the team.

WE ARE, CCC!

We are in a position to grow! How can you contribute? Please attend the Sunday School training event on August 11th. This event is for ALL church members who want our church to grow both numerically and spiritually! See the details in the article below. Register today!

In His Service,

Tracy

"The Messiah" for Christmas

Brandon Hollihan—Minister of Music for Northwest United Methodist Church and husband of our pianist, Junghwa Lee—is putting together a multi-church presentation of "The Messiah" for this Christmas season.

Future practices will be scheduled throughout the fall.

This is an excellent opportunity not only to engage in an uplifting church community event, but also to fully participate in a Christmas worship experience while we are housed in our temporary facility.

If you have any questions, please contact Scott Anderson.

MAILING ADDRESS CHANGE

Please note the new mailing address for The Crossing Community Church is: P.O. Box 1283, Hilliard, OH 43026-6283.

STOWE UPDATE

Dear LABC family,

382 people were served at the Stowe Baptist Center Soup Kitchen in July. I would like to especially thank Paul and Bonnie Althoff, Bill Coulter, and Kelly Thorson who helped prepare and serve the meal. Their love and service to God’s people is most appreciated. I could not do it without your prayers, financial support, and willingness to cook, and to go and serve as needed. With the increase in the number of people we are serving, there is a need for more people to help. A sign-up sheet has been placed outside the OFH, for those who would like to signup to help. Three people in addition to me are needed to travel to Stowe on the third Tuesday of every month. We cook on the third Monday of every month, and then serve on Tuesday, at 10:00 a.m. I’d love to have you participate any way you can. This ministry is greatly needed. I appreciate all of your efforts so much. Your sister-in-Christ, Kathy Leach

LABC CHURCH BRICKS AVAILABLE

If you would like to have a brick memento from the Lane Avenue Baptist Church building, Joe Hatfield has several at his home, setting in his driveway.  You are welcome to stop by any time to pick one up.  His home is on a corner, and the driveway can be accessed from 4799 Trabue Road, then follow the driveway, picking up the brick on the way out, exiting on Bolingbrook Drive, and following Bolingbrook back to Trabue Road.  The bricks will be available until August 14th, when Joe will dispose of whatever is left.

LANDSCAPING SERVICES AVAILABLE

Joe Hatfield, one of our own LABC members, has retired.  He is now offering landscape services to the general public.  If you need residential or business landscaping, consider giving Joe a call at 206-2319.
